Order without joining the queue. The app talks to the counter display, so your number appears on the same screen everyone else is watching.
Overview
Customers place an order from their phone instead of queueing at the counter. The order goes straight through and the customer gets a number back.
We integrated the app with the venue's queue display board, so the number in the app is the number on the screen above the counter. Staff manage one flow whether the order came from the app or the till, which is what keeps it usable at peak times.
Project brief
At peak times the queue was the whole experience, and staff were treating counter orders and app orders as two separate problems.
Connecting the app to the physical display board made them one flow. Customers order from where they are sitting and watch for their number on the same board as everyone else.
